Notice to Patients

Dear Patients,

After an enriching 14 years as the Medical Director of the Northeast Baptist Wound Healing Center and 10 years as the Medical Director of Mission Trail Baptist Wound Healing Center, I have resigned as Medical Director of both these wound care centers. My last day to see patients at Mission Trail Baptist Wound Healing Center will be 3/29/2024 and my last day to see patients at Northeast Baptist Wound Healing Center will be 4/30/2024. Moving forward, I am excited to announce that I will be taking on the role of Chief Medical Officer with abbreviated clinical duties at the Audie Murphy Veterans Hospital here in San Antonio.

This decision has not been easy, and bidding farewell is undoubtedly an emotional experience. From the bottom of my heart, I extend my sincere gratitude for the opportunity to serve as your wound care physician, to care for you, and to learn from you.

I would also like to express my deepest appreciation to the dedicated staff at both the wound care centers, who have steadfastly worked with me to provide you all with the highest quality care. Their unwavering support has been instrumental in the success of this practice from its earliest days.

As I embark on this new chapter, I want you to know that I will miss each one of you immensely and will continue to feel a deep responsibility for your health. For a smooth transition and continuation of care, you will continue to receive wound care at both the Wound Healing Centers with the new physician after my departure. Both the hospitals are preparing to announce my replacement and you will receive notice from the hospital once the new medical director is in place. Hospitals do not anticipate a gap in coverage, and you will be able to continue receiving care at both the wound care centers. If you need to seek wound care outside these two Baptist Wound Healing centers, you can find other wound care and hyperbaric medicine physicians in San Antonio on the Bexar County Medical Society website under the specialty of Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine at http://www.bcms.org/findadoc3.php.

Given that both the Wound Healing Centers are a part of the Baptist Health System, upon the closure of my practice, your medical records will be securely held by the Baptist Health System. These records will be available for review by the new wound care physician at these centers. Per legal requirements, you may request the transfer of your records to any physician of your choice. If you opt to see a different physician and need your medical records, please contact the Medical Records Department of Baptist Health System directly. For Northeast Baptist Wound Healing Center medical record request, please contact Health Information Management – Phone: (210)-297-2716; Fax: (210)-297-0297 and for Mission Trail Baptist Wound Healing Center medical record request, contact Health Information Management – Phone: (210) 297-3710; Fax: (210) 297-0321. You will need to complete a written authorization and payment of the statutory fee to cover copying costs and Baptist Health System will transfer your records as directed.

Should you have any questions, please contact the Wound Healing Centers – Mission Trail Wound Healing Center at (210) 297-3520 and Northeast Baptist Wound Healing Center at (210) 297-2520.
